Edna Manley College Visual and Performing Arts
Since the introduction of SBDC Jamaica in January 2015, the Ministry of Industry, Investment & Commerce, through its agency, the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), has been providing business development services by adopting the American Small Business Development Centre Model. The Organisation of American States then extended the concept to Latin America and the Caribbean, and as the only arts based tertiary institution in the English-speaking Caribbean, Business and the Arts are a significant part of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (EMCPVA)’s mission.
As a result, the College has partnered with the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) to house a Small Business Development Centre (SBDC), which is a natural and timely progression given the alignment in vision.
The Small Business Development Centre at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (SBDC@EMCVPA) is a problem-solving container designed to guide, nurture and strengthen small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (EMCVPA).
