The Edward Seaga Library and Resource Centre

The Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts Library is an Academic Library with a specialized collection in the visual and performing arts and other related areas.

The Library’s mission statement is as follows:

  1. To support the teaching and research needs of the institution’s students, faculty and other administrative staff, through its collections and services.
  2. To collect and preserve research materials which will increase and enhance knowledge of and appreciation of the region’s art forms and culture.

As an academic library the primary users of the library are students and staff of the institution. Nevertheless, with a unique collection the library is also haven for both the national and international communities of scholars, researchers, artists and art philanthropists.

The Library now has subscription to the EBSCO host research databases. These include access to products such as ERIC, Academic Search Full Text Elite, and International Bibliography of Theatre & Dance with full text, and a Professional Development Collection; and can be accessed via a link within the College’s website or for off campus access by a username and password.
