A Carol for Moneybags”, the Jamaican adaptation of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ written by renowned playwright and journalist Barbara Gloudon, with original songs by Conroy Cooper is the School of Drama’s second production for the 2017/2018 academic year.  Directed by Pierre Lemaire, “A Carol for Moneybags” is a Jamaican Children pantomime delivering positive Christmas fun through theatre, music and dance, using the stage’s magic to bring thoughtful messages to the audience. As is customary, the production features students from the School of Drama with musicians and singers from the School of Music and choreography by School of Dance Lecturer Patrick Earle.

This will be Lemaire’s third time producing “A Carol for Moneybags”, he shares that it is his choice because of the “stage magic and rich entertainment for both adults and children with strong human messages celebrating the Christmas spirit.” The production opens on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 7:00 pm and will run November 10 -12 & 17-19 and December 15 -17, 2017 at the Dennis Scott Studio Theatre. Showtime is 7:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 6:00 pm on Sundays.

Corporate Jamaica is encouraged to share the Christmas spirit with children in state homes or schools across the island through the purchase of tickets or house.
